Welcome to RoboWeekend at RIT. Currently we offer an introductory class in robotics which utilize the Lego Mindstorms NXT robots. This weekend event is meant to create a solid foundation in the science and programming involved in robotics. The introductory class is geared towards students with little to no exposure to robotics and Lego Minstorms NXT kits. Soon more classes will be offered which will build upon this foundation.
Details:
- 2 day workshop to experience working with “Lego Mindstorm NXT” Robots
- Programming, robot building, exciting challenges and lots of hands-on fun
- 3 educational mini-projects and 1 team based competition project
- Snacks, food, and drinks provided
Schedule:
- Saturdays from 9:45 a.m. til 3:00 p.m. (lunch and drinks provided)
- Sundays from 11:30 a.m. til 3:30 p.m. (snack and drinks provided)
*Families welcome after 3pm on Sundays for the competition and a tour of RIT Robotics

Workshops will be held in Room 09-3200, in the Kate Gleason College of Engineering, Rochester Institute of Technology, 79 Lomb Memorial Drive, Rochester, NY 14623.
Registration and Fees:
Please register in advance for a workshop. The number of students is limited to 20 per workshop session. Fees must be paid on the first day of the workshop, upon arrival.
Fees for 2 day workshop: $100

(Fees can be paid by check made payable to “MABL”. Please do not mail checks. Please bring them on the day of the event.)

Eligibility:
Students currently studying in grades 6-10 or with prior permission.
